Who am I, anyway?

My name is Kristin. I am a wife, mother of twins, Christian, Libertarian, farming, homeschooling, book addict. There's more, but that's a good start.

My husband of 16 years was raised on a farm and spent most of our marriage looking for the perfect farm for us. In the meantime, we were settled on 8 gorgeous acres in West Central Georgia. After much prayer, I felt like God was asking why we weren't doing more with what he'd already given us instead of looking for more. We have since been blessed with over 50 acres adjacent to our existing homestead and a starting to expand.

I have a passion for producing great food and playing in the dirt (as evidenced by my degree in Horticulture). I have expanded the vegetable garden and planted more blueberries. We have built three chicken tractors for our meaty birds and have a beautiful herd of dairy goats.

We raise Lamancha (and one Alpine) dairy goats. It's amazing how these critters have wormed their way into my heart. We are growing our herd and bringing in the best bucks we can afford to continue to strengthen our lines.

I love cheese making and make a variety of fresh and aged goat cheeses as well as yogurt, soaps, and other goodies.

I am not willing to jump through the government hoops to have my farm certified organic, but I strive to produce the cleanest, healthiest food possible- free of hormones, antibiotics and other chemicals. I am using our goat manure and the chicken tractors to fertilize and help build up our grassy areas, feed the worms and replenish our soil.

Thank you for your interest and support, for growing with us and enabling us to grow!
