Market Day

My first ever farmers' market was a rip-roarin' success! I was pushing it to get there on time and was frantically setting up my table at the 4:00 start time. By the time my pricing board was filled out, I had a line!

I was sold out of milk in the first 3 customers and out of cheese and eggs within the first hour! I believe I could have sold 5x as much if I'd had the product.

A big thank you to my parents and my kids for helping out. Couldn't have done it without you. I even brought little Cash and Cara along. They were a hit with everyone.

Come see me Saturday at 2:00. And come early.

 Bucket List- Check!

    1. All dairy is sold "For Pet Consumption". I label everything with the required disclaimer:

Warning: Not for human consumption. These
products have not been pasteurized and may
      contain harmful bacteria.

Raw spinach is more dangerous, but what can you do?

  3. We have a farmers market here in summer time. The county owns the buildings, it's pretty nice. We like produce and products from the farmers market a lot better than the waxed and dyed stuff at the grocery store.

    1. I agree! I can't wait for the produce to start coming in. It was such a rough winter and late spring, it's going to be a while.

  6. Looks like fun! I can't believe you can sell milk and cheese there like that. I would have the feds on me so fast if I tried that. I have started milking but the lambs and now one of Sandy's little kids is getting it all. Hopefully soon.

    1. I am licensed by the state to sell milk for pet consumption. Everything was well marked and since I am not crossing state lines, it is only a state matter. There are other vendors in the big market in town who have been selling pet dairy for a couple years now.
