The Latest
I dosed Trixie with Dexamethasone at 3:00 today to induce labor. She has just been looking weaker and weaker. The vet and I didn't want to wait any longer.
I pray that she and the kids will be okay. I have learned a lot from this. Mainly, I've learned that I know my own animals and I have a good gut feeling for how they're doing. I need to trust that. I just hope that lesson can be learned without added angst and heartache.
I'll keep ya posted.

I've been wondering how things were going. I'm glad you didn't wait. You know her best. I hope her labor starts soon and she gets to feeling better ☺ Now I'm nervous, definetly keep us posted!
ReplyDeleteKristin, All of my life with my animals, and even with my children, I have fought that "gut feeling". Sometimes I would feel that something is wrong, and the farm vet would tell me that it all seemed fine. The same has been true with a pediatrician at times. I have learned to trust the little voice inside me. If it seems ok, it probably is. If something seems not quite right, it usually is. I hope Trixie and the new kids will be fine. Goats are pretty resilient, but I always have concern for all my mama animals. Best wishes.
