Fodder: Day 5

I didn't forget my fodder in the excitement over baby goats!

The first day's oats have lots of roots and a goodly number of little green shoots popping up. The roasting pans don't have drainage, so I am misting the shoots with a spray bottle and have the tray covered in plastic wrap to keep it moist.

The wheat seems to have germinated a little better than the oats. We will see how  it looks after 5 days compared with the oats.

My friend sent me a picture from University of Maryland where they are researching fodder for sheep. I'm interested to look up their results.

And more baby goat pictures....because I can't get enough!

  1. They are so cute and it will be interesting to see if they have "Silly's" personality. We need names!

    1. Mama named them for me this morning- Cash and Cara. Kris, we may be stealing some of your names. Their ADGA names will be "Hammock Haven Cash 'n Carry" and "Hammock Haven Cara Bleu".
